Hey Pushers! Duke here. Listen up.

Last time I checked up on ya was September 5th.

…

What? I’ve been busy. You know, doin’ talk shows, re-explainin’ what DNF really stands for, stuff like that. (Hint: It ain’t ‘Did Not Finish’.)

I remember bein’ pretty impressed with you five days in (BTW — Did some of you miss that post?!), but let’s see where you stand at today. *checks the list* Hm. Not bad, not bad. We’re three people light, but on the whole, these are some good-lookin’ stats.

The goal of NPI is consistency over quantity, to make sure you plop your little butts in front of a keyboard and Write Every Day. As long as you understand that, I’m sure we’ll get along juust fine.

  1. *Scratching head* Where and when did I get a strike?

Cause even on my bad week, I made sure I got to at least 250 words.

  2. Okay I found it. The metrics stuff is a separate file that I fill in before cut ‘n pasting. One day, I missed changing what day I was on for NPI and it messed up the count for a few.

    Sept 8 = 1295
Sept 9 = 426 http://disciplineunderfire.blogspot.com/2011/09/stellar-gift-of-death-post-94.html (This post said it was the second Day 8 and is now fixed to Day 9).
Sept 10 = 337 http://disciplineunderfire.blogspot.com/2011/09/stellar-gift-of-death-post-95.html (This post said it was Day 9 and is now fixed to Day 10).
Sept 11 = 269 and this was the day I realized I had goofed and fixed the file, but not my older posts so it looked like I had missed Day 10.

Sorry to be the source of confusion; that just wasn’t a good week for me.

OK, updating your day 9 and day 10, and your totals. Just FYI I’m keeping track of every participant in the Word Count Repository here: http://5-rings.com/blog/2011/09/npi-the-duke-word-count-repository/ so if you notice any hiccups over there, please let me know.
