This is what I was trying to post yesterday. But thanks to some glitchcraft, it wouldn’t post. :P
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s time to tally. Let’s see how everyone’s doing. (This will not be including Day 5 because not everybody’s posted today’s WC yet.)
1.
Merrilee Faber:
Merrilee is smoking us. Smoking us! She’s gotten in a few pretty early respectable WCs this NPI already. And she’s still finding the time to post great blog posts along the way, too. Even one on alien sex. *snicker*
And … she’s almost broken through the 10k barrier on her novel—how cool is that?
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 0.
May…
1st: Check-in @ 424 words.
2nd: Check-in @ 878 words.
3rd: Check-in @ 809 words.
4th: Check-in @ 359 words.
Total so far: 2,470 words.
If that’s not enough words, I don’t know what is. *rimshot*
2.
christopher:
A very steady pace to start, christopher is doing a great job keeping it above 500 words per day. He has expressed how great it feels to be throwing caution to the wind and finally typing, and that’s exactly what NPI is all about.
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 0.
May:
1st: Check-in @ 504 words.
2nd: Check-in @ 547 words.
3rd: Check-in @ 650 words.
4th: Check-in @ 507 words.
Total so far: 2,208 words.
3.
Nick Enlowe:
And lumbering behind as always, Nick Enlowe!! :)
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 0.
May…
1st: Check-in @ 608 words.
2nd: Check-in @ 448 words.
3rd: Check-in @ 382 words.
4th: Check-in @ 412 words.
Total so far: 1,850 words.
4.
RG Sanders:
Uh oh, looks like us NPI veterans are falling behind. I guess you and I need to step it up a little, RG. ;)
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 0.
May:
1st: Check-in @ 401 words.
2nd: Check-in @ 548 words.
3rd: Check-in @ 404 words.
4th: Check-in @ 474 words.
Total so far: 1,827 words.
5.
Joseph Lewis:
Here’s a mystery to be solved…
Tally:
Previous Total WC: 0.
May:
1st: Day of Reprieve(?) @ 0 words.
2nd: Knock-out(?) @ 0 words.
edit-> He dropped a line here. Looks like he’s got quite a wordcount total, too.
1 – 898
2 – 504
3 – 1,001
4 – 907
Total: 3,310 words.
more edit-> ^ How did he do that? Very impressive. And that puts him in first place by a landslide.
I’ll admit I’m a bit confused by this one. So for the moment, this tally is temporary. Does anybody know where Joseph is posting his updates? I can’t find them anywhere… I mean, on May 1st he posted this great post about getting through the first quarter of his novel, so I assume he’s writing atm. I just don’t see where (or if) he’s reporting it. *shrug*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway, great great job guys. We’re all doing great, keeping a steady pace. I’m looking forward to how things develop through the month.
Keep typin~!

1 – 800
2 – 500
3 – 1,000
4 – 900
5 – 1,700

I wouldn’t say I’m smokin’; it’s early days yet. And I always post more on the blog when I’m writing – the words, they tumble out. In fact, I’m procrastinating from writing right now – isn’t teh interwebs awesome?
I wonder what the total tally of words from all of us will be at the end. At least 50,000 words – that’s half a novel right there!

Those are awfully … round numbers.
Okay. I’ll go ahead and edit this post. Glad you’re still in it.
All done… do you have any tips for the rest of us?
