Novel Push Initiative: Our standings so far

Welcome to March 5th! Everyone’s still hanging in there. And today it sounds like RG and packsister mean business.

I think the greatest thing about this is we’ve all been supportive, encouraging each other to continue.

(thanks to RG Sanders for the graphic)

To reinforce the notion of friendly competition, I’m posting the tallies in the order of total WC.

1.
packsister:

She’s been really going the extra mile each day, getting in lots of writing on her unnamed werewolf novel.  She’s blown the rest of us out of the water. Can she keep this pace up? It’ll be interesting to see. :)

Tally:

March…
1st – Update @ 1449 words. (The first ‘Update’, and just shy of a ‘Tougher-than-Nano’!)
2nd – Check-in @ 744 words.
3rd – Check-in @ 347 words.
4th – Check-in @ 776 words.

Total so far: 3316!

Very impressive! It’s easy to see that packsister is excited about her story and enjoys working with it.

2.
RG Sanders:

His dedication to And the Stars Ran Red is impressive; he’s been pushing for those additional words each and every day. I’ve been a little worried he wasn’t going to post by midnight a few times, but he’s always made it. :)

Tally:

1st – Check-in @ 857 words. (Another strong start!)
2nd – Check-in @ 578 words.
3rd – Check-in @ 422 words.
4th – Check-in @ 382 words.

Total so far: 2209!

Excellent job! From his latest post, it sounds like today RG is going to try to reverse this trend of decreasing word counts each day.

3.
Nick Enlowe:

I haven’t been striving for those extra words, but the most important thing is more of Five Rings is becoming a reality.

Tally:

1st – Check-in @ 327 words.
2nd – Check-in @ 329 words.
3rd – Check- in @ 384 words.
4th – Check-in @ 613 words.

Total so far: 1653!

Uh oh. Looks like I’ve got some catching up to do, ^__^;;; The good news is my word count has been increasing each day. So maybe I’m just uhh.. warming up? Yeah, that’s it!

Great job so far, guys :) I’m so glad nobody’s been Knocked-out. I wonder if packsister is going to come up with a title for her book while she’s writing this month?
Looks like the most popular tally per day is Check-in by a landslide. Nothing wrong with that, but it sure does make me start to appreciate how tough NaNo is.

It’ll be interesting to see where we stand in another five days. Best of luck to everyone!

And you’re right, today I mean business! I’m curious myself how far it’ll take me!
I’m really proud of all of us, guys. Really wish nobody gets kicked out.
