WC: 613 words.

An odd, quirky thing that helps me with my word count each day is vowing to not drink or even touch a caffeinated beverage (I’m addicted, you see. I have to have a soda at some point every single day) until I’ve reached 250 words.

The first scene I was writing ended at exactly 251 words. It was tempting to stop there, but I didn’t feel accomplished. I moved on to the next scene to get Cirellio and Cauinn out of Javo and into the next part of the story, bringing me to 613.

Packsister’s been pep-talking (pestering? lol) RG and I to push our daily word counts higher. I guess I’ll try for more, but the main goal of this exercise is to train ourselves to add to our tomes every day—or at least more often.

200-1000 words every two weeks just wasn’t cutting it for me. Still, a little friendly competition can’t hurt. Though I must admit I’m at a slight disadvantage by posting my word count first each day ;)

Tomorrow will be the first official tally of our progress. RG Sanders made a nice graphic for it. (Thanks again!)

Oh yes, and…

The forums. If you’d like to, come on in and register and discuss things. There’s two categories: General Chat and a Testing Zone. There’s only one discussion up: What categories should we have? I’ve a few in mind myself but would like to hear your opinions as well.
