Thanks! I found it was a difficult topic to competently approach.

Wow, "court etiquette" is something that I'm working on myself for book two of my work. It was funny to see this right as I started working on it. You've got some nice ideas.

The floating city thing? Nah. That concept is something I imagine everyone has at least once. Just interesting - and good - to know someone else is on the same page as me regards the ability to over-shoot on the detailing.

Building the framework, but letting the reader take it from there - you read my mind.

@OS: Vivi says hi! *paw waves*
Tolkien, Jordan ... you know, maybe they did worldbuild a lot, maybe a little too much, but they had such great plots, it's almost like it didn't matter they'd get all expositional about random things....

Maybe the secret is just to have an awesome, unforgettable plot? *shrug*

@aeronwy: Definitely. Trying to include everything from our worldbuilding usually turns out bad. We've got to remember as writers that supplying the 'framework' is enough. We have to let the reader's imagination take over from there.
Glad you like Vivi and got the referrence ;)
